Wroński has a background in Greco-Roman Wrestling, being a 3 time gold medalist and 2 time bronze medalist at the European Championships,  1 time gold medalist, 1 time silver medalist and 3 time bronze medalist at the World Championships, and was a double Olympic gold medalist at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and again at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. 


He would fight 1 time in MMA against fellow Polish Olympian Pawel Nastula losing that fight. Retired from competition, he spends some time working as the Wrestling coach for the Mad Dogs Gdynia MMA gym.

 
For his sporting achievements, he received the Order of Polonia Restituta :


 Knight's Cross (5th Class) in 1988,
 Officer's Cross (4th Class) in 1995,
 Commander's Cross (3rd Class) in 1996.
